Yesterday, December 26, 2022, Detective Berger and Officer Milone were dispatched to Caldwell University to assist Caldwell Police Department with a suspicious person. Upon arrival the suspect, Jonathan D. Bishop of Jersey City, NJ, 29, was seated in the rear of Caldwell Police Department’s patrol vehicle. After further investigation Caldwell Police found Mr. Bishop to be in possession of a package out of our jurisdiction. The residence in which the package was taken confirmed the package was taken without their knowledge. Mr. Bishop was placed under arrest and charged with theft, criminal mischief, and receiving stolen property. These charges against Mr. Bishop are merely allegations and he is presumed innocent until he is found guilty in a court of law. Authorized by: Chief Darren Volker
