Missing Elderly Female Located

On the evening of August 5, 2022 our police department received a 9-1-1 call in regards to a missing 77-year-old female who resides in West Orange. Officer Brogan and Officer Gonzalez responded the upper end of town near the Essex Fells Country Club where she was last reported to have been. Chief Volker and Captain Jones responded and set up an incident command location to assist the officers on scene. The husband of the missing female was able to keep in contact with her by cell phone but she was unable to give an exact location of her whereabouts. Officers implemented a grid search into the upper end of town where she last was. A short time later the missing female was located by a North Caldwell Officer in a small patch of woods along the fence line of the Essex Fells Country Club Golf Course. The female was evaluated for minor injuries by the West Essex First Aid squad and was reunited with her husband on scene. On behalf of Chief Volker and our police department we would like to thank the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit, the Essex Fells Fire Department, Fairfield Police Department, North Caldwell Police Department, Roseland Police Department, Verona Police Department, West Caldwell Police Department, the West Essex First Aid Squad for your assistance. Job well done by all!
