DWI Arrest

On April 4, 2025, at approximately 10:30 P.M., Officer Chiuchiolo conducted a motor vehicle stop on Roseland Ave. for a vehicle with equipment violations and a suspended registration.  While Officer Chiuchiolo was speaking with the driver, he observed several indicators of someone who may be under the influence of alcohol.  Officer Chiuchiolo had the driver, a 54-year-old male from Hillsborough, NJ, step out of the vehicle so that he could perform field sobriety tests to determine if he was safe to operate a motor vehicle.  Upon completion of the tests, it was determined that the driver was unable to operate a motor vehicle safely and he was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.  Once in headquarters, the driver submitted breath samples for the purpose of testing.  It is alleged that the drivers’ blood alcohol concentration was above the legal limit.  He was issued several motor vehicle summonses in addition to driving under the influence.  These charges are merely allegations, and the driver is presumed innocent until he is found guilty in a court of law.
